Most custom pet figurines land somewhere between a small desk piece and a few hundred dollars for a full sculpture. At TaconTues, a hand-painted head figurine starts around $59, and full-body sculptures run from about $168 up to $1,800 for a near life-size piece.
Two things move the price more than anything else: how big it is, and how much of your pet we sculpt. A palm-size head magnet and a 32-inch full-body sculpture are not the same amount of work, so they are not the same price.
Where your money actually goes
Every single piece goes through five real steps, each done by a person, not a machine on a line.
1. Your photo becomes a 3D model
One of our artists opens your photo and sculpts your pet from scratch in 3D software. This is not a filter or a preset. They build the shape of the head, the body, the ears, the pose, all by hand, until it reads like your specific animal and not a generic dog or cat.
2. We 3D print the piece
Once the model looks right, we print it as a solid, physical object. The bigger the size you choose, the more material and print time it takes, which is a big part of why the larger sizes cost more.
3. Hand painting (the slow part)
This is where most of the time goes. A painter matches your pet's fur, markings, and eye color by hand, layer by layer. A small head piece is a few hours. A large full-body sculpture with detailed markings can take most of a working day for one artist. We have six painters, and no two people paint exactly alike, which is also why every piece comes out one of a kind.
4. You approve it before it ships
Before anything leaves us, we send you photos of the finished piece. If the markings are off or something doesn't feel like your pet, we fix it. We only ship once you're happy. That safety net is built into the price, and honestly it's the part we're most proud of.
5. Packaging and shipping
A hand-painted piece needs to arrive in one piece, so it ships in protective, gift-ready packaging. That cost is baked in too.
Why it costs more than the $15 figurine on a store shelf
A factory figurine is made once as a mold, then copied ten thousand times. The cost is split across all ten thousand. Yours is made a single time, for a single pet, by people who spend hours on it. There's no mold to spread the cost across. That's the whole difference.
You're not paying for a figurine of a dog. You're paying for a figurine of your dog.
What makes one order cost more than another
- Size. This is the biggest factor. A 4-inch piece and a 16-inch piece are worlds apart in material, print time, and painting.
- Head vs. full body. A full-body sculpture is a lot more to model and paint than a head.
- Add-ons. A wood display frame or a display base adds a little to the total.
